After the excitement of  the Champions League Finaland the end of season play-offs at Wembley, the last few days of pre-World Cup friendlies have not exactly been riveting.

Possibly the most exciting moment has been Nigeria emerging from the tunnel at Wembley last Saturday in their green and white zig zag jerseys. The launch was very late to help reduce the number of non official copycat jerseys on sale in the streets and markets of Lagos. 3 million were produced and there was a line around the block at the NIKE store in London and an immediate world wide sell out. £65 each and the workers in Bangladesh or wnerever getting maybe £2.00 a day if they are lucky.

We have just seen Russia fined £22,000 after being found guilty of racist monkey noises and more at a March international in St Petersburg. Russia v France, with Paul Pogba the main target. WHAT GOOD WILL THAT ACHIEVE. Local team Zenit also fined for racial chants against RB Leipzig in the Europa League. England's FA was fined £16,000 for one of their u20 players seen drinking IRON BRU which is a none sponsored energy drink. GOOD HEAVENS. If you are lucky to mingle with the suits and blazers in Russia this month check how many are wearing the 'official' HUBLET watch on their fat wrists !!

England have the third youngest of the 32 squads on show at average age of 26 years and 18 days, eight days older then France and a year older than Nigeria. Panama, Costa Rica, Mexico and Argentina have the oldest squads.

Sorry to hear about LORIS KARIUS the Liverpool goalkeeper. Evidently, according to doctors in USA, he suffered from concussion after Sergio Ramos's elbow came in contact with his head prior to his first 'blunder'.in Kiev.

"A World Cup without me is not a World Cup worth thinking" so says Zlatan Ibrahimovic in his VISA commercial as he sits on a golden throne and is transported to Russia. After his sensational MLS debut some months ago he has not made many headlines. Dear old Wayne Rooney is about to ply his trade in MLS with DC United at £3.7 million and Everton were glad to get rid of his £8 million wage packet on Merseyside.

CONMEBOL has told Morocco that they don't have time to listen to a presentation from the 2026 hopefuls prior to the decision on 13th June in Moscow for which they have already committed to the much stronger UNITED Bid led by USA along with Canada and Mexico.

New Spanish FA  President Luis Rubiales has found it impossible to cancel the 8 day trip approved by his predecessor to take 150 people on a ' junket to the World Cup costing the federation over £2 million. Rubiales, still only 40, played 269 matches mostly for lower league Spanish clubs but also 3 times in 2009 for Hamilton Academical in Scotland. He replaces the shady Angel Maria Villar .
