Title: SILENT NIGHT IN MOSCOW...NOT REALLY !

Blog:

Russian football is in a mess. The national team, despite having the highest paid national coach on the planet, Fabio Capello, continues to struggle .One loss and two ties at FIFA World Cup 2014 in Brazil. The 16 team Russian Premier league has club after club going belly up with poor attendances, sponsors not getting value for money and pulling out, and of course the continued racism and crowd violence.

After 3 warnings and fines, CSKA MOSCOW have not been allowed to sell tickets for their Group E matches at 18,650 capacity Arena Khimki, which they share with Moscow Dynamo, until their new 30,000 stadium is completed. Everybody who watched the home match with Manchester City last night on television was surprised to see home fans chanting, cheering and drinking Heineken beer just below the press tribune.

UEFA allowed 150 media, 50 parents and children who accompanied the players onto the pitch, 75 members of each club's delegation, plus 300 free tickets for UEFA sponsors, such as Heineken, Gazprom, Samsung Play Station, Nissan and Master Card. THIS IS WHERE UEFA SCORED AN OWN GOAL! Last month some Bayern Munich fans claimed that they had paid up to 1,000.00 for theses sponsors tickets. Others had rented an apartment overlooking the arena and paid about 80.00 each. City fans found out and 18 of them rented the same apartment last night.

Due to a ban on alcohol advertising in some countries such as France, Slovenia, Switzerland, Kazakhstan, Spain and Turkey, Heineken bill boards are replaced with ones saying RESPECT or ENJOY RESPONSIBLY. CSKA officials claimed they were not responsible for the support and had not sold any tickets. City raced away to a 2-0 half time lead through Sergio Aguero and James Milner, but had a disasterous second half and it finished up 2-2. Meanwhile, at Stadio Olimpico, ROME BURNED as AS Roma were slaughtered 7-1 by visiting FC Bayern. I had been at the Germans previous record away score, 5-0 in Lisbon at Sporting's Estadio Jose Alvalde a few seasons ago.

City captain Vincent Kompany admitted his teams failings but took the opportunity to claim FOUL at his club's supporters being denied entry, despite the fact that they were being penalized for the behaviour of CSKA's racist fans. QUITE RIGHT ! A year ago in the same competition Yaya Torre had been racially abused in the same stadium.
