Lots of fans are willing to go to great lengths for their clubs, but at Lincoln City the fans walked on fire in aid of their coach Peter Jackson who has been diagnosed with throat cancer.

They laid a 10 foot fire and fans were invited to a sponsored short walk on the hot embers at Sincil Bank stadium. First to go for it was club chairman of the Red Imps, Jerry Wright, in a tuxedo and bare feet, followed by lots of fans in aid of the McMillan Cancer Institute.

One FIFA guy in the hot seat is V.P. and President of the South American Football Federation, CONMEBOL,  Nicolas Leoz  of Paraguay. He was named during an ongoing lawsuit in Zug, Switzerland into the collapse of ISL (International Sport & Leisure) in 2001. $300 million was lost. ISL was hired by FIFA to get sponsorships-with a 25% fee. He evidently received $130,000 for 'cooperation' from one company. Six former executives are on trial in the courtroom of 41 year old blonde judge Carole Ziegler. SCHMEIGELD -kickbacks is the German phrase.  Altogether, over $120 million in bribes was mentioned.

On July 3rd a verdict is expected and jail sentences are possible. Sepp Blatter and Joao Havalenge his Brasilian predecesor deny any knowledge.  Read more at After the verdict Lord Sebastian Coe, Olympic champion and Chairman of the London 2012 Olympic Games, will be asked to rule on any other penalties, in his role as chairman of the FIFA Ethics committee.

UEFA are run a little better than FIFA, and this week we have the first leg of The Champions League semi-finals.  The blue boo boys of Chelsea are still not convinced that Avram Grant is the coach for them, while the directors box at Anfield on Tuesday evening will be a little crowded. Tom Hicks has promised to fly in from Dallas, while George Gillette will be there and has invited executives from DIC, the Dubai company that want to buy them both out. The fans have formed a SPIRIT OF SHANKLY Group to help get rid of the Americans.  When they first took over they promised that they would begin building the new stadium in Stanley Park within 60 days!!! Well, 440 days later the fans took shovels and pics to the park and started digging themselves, as a gesture!! They will replace the turf afterwards.

At Camp Nou the following evening Barca host Man Utd. The Catalans are in disarray with Ronaldinho expected to leave for AC Milan, Thierry Henri probably returning to England, Samuel Eto'o threatening to leave, and Lionel Messi  not fully fit,  and the team over 11 points  adrift of Real Madrid.

UEFA will stage the Champions League final at the Luzinski Stadium and have set aside 21,000 tickets for each club, plus 10,000 already sold to fans. The problem, apart from the cost of getting to Moscow with its very expensive hotels, is that visas are required. Can you imagine what a nightmare that's going to be.? AS I HAVE CHAMPIONED many times, I suggest ALL Champion League Finals be held at neutral  Stade de France in Paris, which is so easy to get to by air, train and road from the countries that normally provide finalists -England, Spain, Germany, Italy.   France doesn't usually have a contender and the French capital is in danger of having NO team in the French top league with Paris Saint Germain -PSG in danger of being relegated this season.
